Vikram Aur Betaal has been a legendary television series, every since it was first telecast in 1985; an innovative fantasy show that captured every one’s attention across age groups. ‘Vikram Aur Betaal’ is based on ‘Betaal Pachisi’, written nearly 2,500 years ago by Mahakavi Somdev Bhatt.

Bhadrakaal, an eminent Sidha Tantrik, takes a vow from King Vikramaditya that he will help him to get Betaal, a ghost, who dwells in Pret Ghati. King Vikram captures the Betaal with his might and his wit. Betaal agrees to come with him only on the condition, that during their journey he will narrate a story to Vikram, who must answer the question posed at the end of it. If he fails to do so, his head will rupture but at the same time if he utters any word from his mouth, Betaal will fly away. This impossible condition was the predicament of the wise and brave King Vikram, who again and again went through the same task in order to get Betaal.

Every time Vikram gets Betaal, Betaal puts the same condition and Betaal starts with his stories. The series presents these stories one by one.
